2023 Korean drinks and desserts showcase



ATCenter Paris held an event in October 2023 at the South Korean Embassy to the OECD in Paris’ 16th arrondissement. The event showcased the taste and variety of Korean traditional alcohol and Korean foods. The selection of traditional Korean liquors included:

  • Makgeolli (unfiltered rice wine): Buja Makgeolli, Haechang, Ugok Saengju
  • Cheongju (clear rice wine): Cheongmyeongju, Pongjeong Sagye Chun, Seoseol
  • Distilled spirits: Munbaeju, Hwayo, Byeongyeong Soju, Pil 25
  • Fruit wines: Grand Cru Cheongsu, Maecheisoon

 

Cocktails were also prepared to make the drinks more accessible to Europeans. Additionally, a professional pastry chef who graduated from Le Cordon Bleu was hired to create desserts using Korean ingredients. The desserts received enthusiastic responses from participants and included:

  • Fig and Korean black sesame verrine
  • Goheung Yuja cake
  • Injeolmi dasik (traditional rice cake)
  • Cheese corn financier
  • Organic Jeju green tea cookies

 

The event highlighted the limitless potential of Korean ingredients.
