Typically Korean, Ssamjang is a spice often used as side sauce for barbecue meat, that is directly soaked in Ssamjang. It is also possible to wrap the meat in a salad or white cabbage leaf and then softly add this thick and deliciously spicy sauce.

Ssamjang is composed of Doenjang (soy paste) to which one adds Goshujang (bitter chili sauce), sesame oil, red onions, and garlic.
