Omija
The 5-flavoured berry

A new red berry that has 5 flavours and an antioxidant function, grown and processed in the Mungyeong region of southeast Korea. The berries from this region have a protected designation of origin.
In Korea, omija has long been used for medicinal purposes. It comes from the Schizandra plant, a woody liana on which bunches of red berries form in August and September. As the Korean name omija (five flavors) means, the berry has salty, sweet, sour, pungent and bitter flavors, each with its own benefits. The tea has a bright red colour, making it the perfect base for fruit punch. Omija is beneficial for lowering blood pressure and for detoxification.
