Samgyetang is traditionally the choice of food to help invigorate and fight the heat.
Rinse the rice in cold water and leave it to soak for 1 hour.
Wash your chickens.
Stuff these with half of the rice, some jujubes, ginseng roots or and garlic cloves.
Place the chickens in a large saucepan and add 8 cups of water, cover and cook over medium-high heat for 30 minutes. Then lower the heat to medium and simmer for another 40 minutes until tender. Add more water if necessary.
Put each chicken in separate bowls, add some broth and sprinkle with green onions.
On the side, mix the salt, pepper, and sesame oil to dipp the pieces of meat while eating.
You can buy a samgyetang kit directly in Korean grocery stores. It contains ginseng and other plants to make the broth perfectly.
