Korean Yangnyum Chicken

A delicious crispy and spicy fried chicken. A recipe created in collaboration with Yamyamfoods.


    Marinade for chicken :

    • 1 kg of chicken meat (e.g. chicken wings
    • 2 cloves of garlic
    • 2 teaspoons of salt
    • Pepper
    • 1 tablespoon of soju


    Breadcrumbs: can be replaced by a preparation of Korean breadcrumbs (ottogi chicken frying mix) mixed with water.

    • 150 g wheat flour
    • 100 g corn starch / potato flour
    • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
    • 1/2 salt
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1 teaspoon of sugar
    • 100 ml of water

Rinse the chicken and remove hairs with tweezers.


Mix the different ingredients of the marinade with the chicken and let stand for at least 30 minutes.


Prepare the breadcrumbs: mix the flour, cornstarch and other powders. Put some aside.

Add the water and mix until you get a liquid paste.

Soak the chicken pieces in the batter and then coat them with the dry mixture.


Heat oil to 180°C and fry the chickens in it. Fry again a second time. (filter the oil before frying again for more efficiency).


Mix the ingredients for the hot sauce and heat in a frying pan. Once the mixture begins to boil, turn off the heat.


Add the fried chicken pieces and mix well so that they soak in the sauce.


Serve the chicken and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
